Petition for Water

     You may question whether it’s safe for students to work outside in the heat for hours on end without water provided. Students of Hilhi have decided to put up a petition for new water fountains in the DM (Drama/Music) building.

     In the DM building, the water fountains don’t work, and the sinks that do work, are full of led. Students that do after school activities such as band, choir and school productions have to go to the commons for water, which is an inconvenience and most the time it’s an ongoing rehearsal, not giving students time to go to the commons. You could argue that students should bring water bottles, but the problem with this is that once the water bottle is empty, they would need a water fountain to fill it up. Not only that but during the school year there is a marching band that spend up to 10 hours outside in 100 degree weather.

     The DM buildings goal was to have 100 signatures on their website. They have passed their goal and so far have 127 signatures.
