Winter Sports Review

Many people participate in winter sports, Girls Basketball, Boys Basketball, Swim, and Wrestling. Girls Varsity Basketball had a pretty successful season going 13-3 overall and 9-5 in league. Kylie Fernstrom, a girls varsity basketball sophomore says, “My favorite parts of this season were all of the team bonding and also all of the teamwork and excitement during practices and games.” Boys Varsity Basketball didn’t have their best season, going 6-18 overall and 2-12 in league. Dillion Condit, a Freshman at Hilhi was a part of the boys basketball program, “One of my favorite parts was when we went to Bend for a tournament, it was a good bonding time for the team.” According to Freshman Kylee McCrea, a past swimmer from the 2017-18 season, says, “During swim, I like how everyone supports one another no matter the results. I also enjoy meeting new people and being able to try something different.” As for wrestling, Cole Siemon and Nick Peterson had a good end to their season, with Cole placing 4th and having 16 points and Nick placing 3rd with 16 points as well. By the looks of the ending statistics, we can tell that the next season for winter sports will hopefully be one of the best.
